Milos Raonic – Canada Fan Blog an (unofficial) blog about tennis and Canadian player Milos Raonic

26Oct/12Off

Paris 1000

[Oct.26] Draw is out: Milos has a bye first round, second round J.Chardy (or a qualifier), third round looks like N.Djokovic. I expect that Milos will rise to the challenge and show us his best tennis. Good luck, Milos, in this last Masters event of 2012.

[Oct.30] Milos v J.Chardy scheduled on Centre Court tomorrow "not before" 8:30pm Paris time (12:30 PT, 3:30 ET).

[Nov.1] Milos had to work hard yesterday for a three-set victory over Chardy, then today met Sam Querrey, fresh off a win yesterday over top-seed Djokovic. Apparently still on a roll, Querrey defeated Milos 63 76(1).  Querrey will play M.Llodra in QF.

So Milos will end the 2012 season ranked 13th, top player from North America, poised to crack top-ten in 2013.  A great year!

  1. Great Season for Milos.
He’s only going to get better.
Top ten in 2013 for sure
Enjoyed the exciting entertainment Milos provided in 2012

  2. So, I assume you looked into the points to confirm that Isner, losing so early, will drop enough points to be below Raonic now? Seems like a big drop, I think he was 10th or something going in.

Milos has had a wicked season… The ride is over for now, with rest coming up sprinkled with some exhibitions for the fans to come : ).

    • yes great season! real shame he couldnt get past querrey…a very wide open door in the tourney now, looking more like a 250 or 500 event now haha

  3. atp site says hes playing court 1 today, does it get any tv coverage?

    • Nothing live: SportsNet One showing a fascinating discussion of why there is no hockey, followed by Cricket News. Perhaps on tape-delay later.

  4. Good win.Milos is now #13 on Halloween.
    Great exhibition of serving.
    Bring on Querry.

  5. Can’t get much closer than that… 7-4 in both tiebreaks, going to. 3rd! 18 aces for Raonic, no break points for either player…

  6. Looks like Raonic / Chardy is about to start. It’s 4:30pm. I can only see from the live score on the ATP Blackberry App that they’re listed as “Live” but still 0-0… Just in time for me to tune in after my bus-ride back from work!

With Djokovic out of the picture, we HAVE to like how Milos’ half of the draw looks. Querry looks on his game for sure, so a Milos win today sets the stage for a potentially thrilling power-game in the next round! –WACB

  7. looking forward to a 3rd round match vs djo! will be the first time they have played correct?
