Canadian women at Indian Wells
We know that Milos was granted a wildcard into the main draw on the men's side, but there are two Canadian women who are attempting to qualify for the tournament in Indian Wells.
Rebecca Marino reached the finals in Memphis a few weeks ago, but was forced to retire in the match due to an injury. Now she's back and looking to play her way into the main draw at Indian Wells. She'll be facing Tatjana Malek of Germany, who is No.145 in the WTA rankings. Marino is ranked No.63 in the world.
The other Canadian looking to qualify is Aleksandra Wozniak. She's lower in the rankings compared to Marino, currently sitting at 133. Wozniak's opponent today will be Petra Martic (CRO), who is ranked just inside the Top 100 at 95.
Here is the order of play for qualifying, which gets underway soon. Also, the main draw for the men will be released sometime tomorrow. Of course, we're eager to see who Milos Raonic will be matched up against and who else will be in his section of the draw.
